Sr. Joan Dawber, SC, Executive Director of LifeWay Network, presented the deP. Goubeau Lecture at Yale University’s St. Thomas More Center on Sunday, October 30, 2016. She spoke on “A Modern Response to Modern Day Slavery: The Ministry of LifeWay Network.”
“When people and organizations come together with a shared vision and diverse gifts, we can create something that is greater than the sum of the individual parts,” said Sr. Joan. In addition to key information about the crime of human trafficking, the lecture focused on the power of collaboration and the essential role of building community as critical to LifeWay Network’s philosophy and results.
Mary Field and Vincent DeP Goubeau Lectures explore the contributions of women in church and society. It has welcomed such distinguished guests as Kerry Robinson, Executive Director for the Leadership Roundtable; Elizabeth Dryer, author of Making Sense of God: A Woman’s Perspective; and Maura Ryan, Associate Professor of Theology, Notre Dame University.
