It was a beautiful summer day for our 5K fun run in Van Cortlandt Park on June 18, 2016, – perfect weather for a run or walk. The Park’s 5K trail winds through woods, providing a picturesque setting along with much-appreciated shade from the sun.
The day brought together staff, volunteers, board members and supporters, along with many avid runners who didn’t know about LifeWay Network, but came across the 5K on running websites. Many of them are interested in learning more about LifeWay Network, and are interested in volunteering with us.
Whether we ran, jogged, walked, or cheered others on, everyone enthusiastically joined in, – even some 4-legged family members participated!
There was much jumping for joy (literally) at the finish line.
The race meant many things to different participants. Some were there primarily to support LifeWay Network, some ran for the simple joy of running, and others enjoyed a triumphant run or walk after having overcome personal health challenges.
We thank everyone who joined in LifeWay Network’s 5K Race for Freedom, especially our volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly, and all those who used their run as a way to raise money to support LifeWay Network. Many thanks to all!
