A Look Inside the Safe House: Art Therapy

Healing for trafficking survivors can arrive in multiple forms. Therapy and a loving support system immediately come to mind, but art and music have played a prominent role in LifeWay Network’s programming for their residents. The combination of creative expression and emotional engagement can be profoundly therapeutic. Photos from some of our more recent sessions are below!

Crossing Point Arts, an organization that specializes in classes for people suffering from PTSD, visited one of our safe houses to coach residents on freeform community painting. Everyone in the house collaborated on large poster board paintings while listening to music.

A few weeks later, Reiki master Karin Reetz conducted a sound healing session with residents using Tibetan bowls.
