Brava! Bravo! What a wonderful night was enjoyed by all!
Sacred Music in a Sacred Space at the Church of Ignatius Loyola hosted a Caritas Concert to benefit LifeWay Network on March 18, 2015.
Mezzo-soprano Sara Murphy and pianist Michael Sheetz treated the audience to a magnificent recital featuring Mahler’s Rückert Lieder and works by Brahms (Alto Rhapsody), Elgar (Sea Pictures) and Lili Boulanger (Four Songs).
At intermission, LifeWay Network Founder and Executive Joan Dawber, SC, spoke to the audience about LifeWay Network’s efforts in the anti-trafficking movement, providing safe housing to women survivors of human trafficking, and raising awareness of the crime through its Education Program.
All of us at LifeWay Network extend a multitude of thanks to Sara, Michael, music director Scott Warren, and everyone at Ignatius Loyola whose tremendous talents and hard work were shared so freely to make this memorable evening possible. Not only was it a masterful performance, it also raised over $6,000 to support LifeWay’s anti-trafficking work. For all of this, we are grateful.
If you missed the concert, you can still enjoy two songs on the
