Sr. Joan Dawber of LifeWay Network profiled in 'If Nuns Ruled The World' book by Jo Piazza

Sr. Joan Dawber, Executive Director of LifeWay Network, is one of the ten nuns profiled in the recently released book ‘If Nuns Ruled The World’ by Jo Piazza. Piazza interviewed Sister Joan about her work at LifeWay Network and her dedication to providing safe housing for women victims of human trafficking.

Veteran reporter Jo Piazza profiles the nuns and the causes to which they’ve dedicated their lives, revealing that nuns are vigorous catalysts of change in our society. Piazza says of nuns: “If nuns ran the world, things would just get done. No questions asked.

Writing about this book, Nicholas Kristof opened his NY Times op-ed column “Sister Acts” (8/16/1014) saying: “In an age of villainy, war and inequality, it makes sense that we need superheroes. And after trying Superman, Batman and Spider-Man, we may have found the best superheroes yet: Nuns.” He goes on to say “…in a world of narcissism and cynicism, they constitute an inspiring contingent of moral leaders who actually walk the walk.
