Empowerment Event Spotlights Human Trafficking

Unique clothing retailer Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet teamed up with London-based artist Lakwena to advance the artist’s bold messages of empowerment in celebration of International Women’s Day 2020 (March 8) and Women’s History Month.

Amplifying the message of empowerment, Bendet joins her friend and active LifeWay Network volunteer, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, in supporting the efforts of LifeWay Network to end human trafficking. Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet will donate 10 percent of the collection’s sales to LifeWay Network. Funds raised will benefit the organization’s new mentorship program, WINGS (Welcoming and Inspiring New Growth as Sisters), an initiative championed by Hilton-Rothschild.

This limited-edition collaboration transforms Lakwena’s signature murals into wearable art. The bold designs feature bright colors and decorative patterns and include affirmative statements, such as “Raise Your Hopes,” “Lift You Higher,” and “Power.” “I love the positivity and graphic beauty of Lakwena’s artwork,” said Bendet. “Each of her works is visual symbols of strength and optimism.”
