LifeWay Network and Covenant House New York partnered to submit a project in Partnership for Freedom’s Reimagine: Opportunity Challenge that would establish safe housing for homeless youth who are trafficking survivors. We were among the 12 finalists. On April 30 it was announced that the winning projects to be funded are the Safe Shelter Collaborative, and the Massachusetts General Hospital Freedom Clinic. We congratulate them, and look forward to seeing these projects take shape.
Although we are disappointed that our project was not selected for funding, we commend Partnership for Freedom and Humanity United on their continued commitment to combating human trafficking. We also want to extend thanks to all who played a role in our collaboration on this project, including Jane Bigelsen, Jayne Rodas, Traci Scott, Alice Obida, Barbara McMurray, and everyone on the team at both Covenant House and LifeWay Network
