Marianne C. Mocarski, CSW, President

Marianne Mocarski has worked in child welfare for over thirty years. She has embarked on work with developmentally disabled adults for the last six years. Marianne serves as the Assistant Executive Director at Little Flower Child and Family Services.

Sister Mary Beth Moore, SC, Secretary

As a Sisters of Charity – Halifax, Mary Beth Moore has worked as a rehabilitation counselor and pastoral worker for forty years. She has a particular interest in vulnerable populations and persons living in poverty.

Sister Barbara Toland, SC, Treasurer

Barbara Toland, a native of Boston, has resided in New York for over fifty years. She has worked primarily in the field of education and most recently served as the New York Treasurer for the Sisters of Charity – Halifax.

Sister Mary Heyser, RSHM

Mary Heyser has a strong commitment to help stop human trafficking in all its forms. She helped start the NY Coalition of Religious Congregations to Stop Trafficking of Persons. Mary entered the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary congregation in 1964 and has worked as an administrator, campus minister, pastoral minister, teacher and an economic development worker in New York, Virginia, Colorado, Florida and Zimbabwe. Mary recently served on her Provincial Leadership Team after returning from six years in Africa.

Mr. Donald Kelly

Active in both church and community affairs, Don Kelly is a trustee of his parish, Resurrection Ascension in Rego Park. He serves on the board of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) of the New York Archdiocese, the Board of the Futures in Education of the Brooklyn Diocese, Catholic Charities Tenement Museum and the Queens Oratorical Society. Prior to his retirement Don was Senior Vice President at Emigrant Savings Bank and presently works with the History Department at New York University.

Dr. Julie Colis

A Postdoctoral Research Associate at Queens College since 2004, Julie Colis has been published extensively in the field of biochemistry. She has been a presenter at Culturefest, a program organized by Global Links, which provides a venue for the sharing of different cultures.

Mr. David Pryor

David Pryor is a paralegal who has also worked in book publishing and printing. He is an immigrant rights advocate and volunteers his time helping recent immigrants. David is married and has three children.

Dr. Heather Anne Alumbaugh

Heather Alumbaugh is an assistant professor of English in the Women’s Studies Program at the College of Mount Saint Vincent.  She received her Ph.D with distinction from NYU.  She sees her association with LifeWay Network as an exciting opportunity.

Ms. Maura Grimes

Bringing her 25 plus years of experience in finance to our board, Maura Grimes has advised families, entrepreneurs  and corporate executives.  She is a member of the Financial Planning Association of New York and graduated cum laude from Villanova University.

Claire Nolan,LCSW

Clare Nolan has advocated for the rights of women and girls as both an NGO representative at the United Nations and through her extensive community social work.

Aster T Kidane

Working on behalf of refugees, detained immigrants and at-risk youth, Aster Kidane brings tireless advocacy and insight into the plight of international trafficking victims.
